Facebook Supports NFTs

Over a year ago, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, introduced us to the endless possibilities available in the metaverse and has since then spent more than 10 billion dollars on keeping that vision alive.

The metaverse is the universe we want to not just project but experience as well, and it is going to include many technologies. One of them is NFT (non-fungible tokens) and cryptocurrency.

Despite the current crypto market downsides, Meta is not backing down. Instead, it constantly encourages the market and proves it is here for the long run.

The first App to adopt this Meta NFT campaign was Instagram. In September, Meta announced that US Facebook users can now share and connect Ethereum and polygon NFTs to their accounts. According to Meta’s official blog post,” users can now connect their assets to digital wallets and post them across the social media platforms.”

This is the company’s way of expanding its abilities to allow individuals to share NFTS with a larger audience (Meta’s Audience). The project will encourage linking of 3rd party wallet integrations such as Rainbow, Metamask, Coinbase, and Trustwallet, which helps retain ownership of their various digital wallets while sharing them to be publicly viewable and can be engaged on with a platform of over 3 billion users.

How many of these users do you believe are NFT-inclined?

This NFT link-up seems a bit late for the social media giant, as the NFT market does not get as much attention and buzz as it used to get before, and most social media users still don’t understand the concept of NFTs and their mark on the general digital marketplace.

That said, Facebook has a lot of work to do if they want to see NFT reach its full potential on their platform because this token is far more than pictures, and the right education and enlightenment will make its users become more engaged and immersed in the NFT space and, over time, into the cryptocurrency universe as well, but as for now, all we can do is wait and watch as the whole development process unfolds.

Do you think NFTs are a great addition to the Meta platform?
